Property worth thousands of dollars was destroyed on 12 August 2020 when the home of Vimbai Kamukwasha, an MDC – T District Chairman and 2014 Extra Ordinary Congress delegate, was burnt in a suspected arson attack by alleged MDC Alliance activists in Kuwadzana, Harare.
After hearing of the attack, MDC-T Secretary General Senator Douglas Mwonzora arranged a trip to visit the family and see the damage first hand. Sen Mwonzora was distraught to see how the family had been affected emotionally and materially by the attack. He was, however, thankful that no lives had been lost in the heinous act.
The Senator immediately put a team in place to help Chairman Kamukwasha’s family. Speaking with family members and close friends, Sen Mwonzora deplored violence of any nature and called upon the MDC-T family and all Zimbabweans to value life, property and cherish peace. He repeated his calls for rational disputation in resolving differences.
Sen Mwonzora was accompanied Harare Councillors Luckson Mukunguma of Ward 25 (Highfields) , Councillor Clifton Zumba Ward 38 (Kuwadzana) and Urayai Mangwiro, MDC – T Kuwadzana East District Chairman.
